After learning about the Statue of Liberty last week,  we decided to do a joint STEAM activity with all the students in myself and Mrs. Mandujano's class.  We measured out the actual size of the Statue and then had students lay down with their arms over their head and see if all 52 students would be as tall as the American symbol.  As you can see in the video, we reached about 125 feet out of 305 feet. The students had a blast comparing their size to the Statue of Liberty!

Neerajaa gets lunch with the teacher today for passing her math facts to 5! Way to go Neerajaa!

Building a statue-STEM

Team Task-Students were given 10 pipe cleaners in groups of 3 to try to replicate a "statue" with a strong pedestal like the Statue of Liberty. The groups worked together and were able to create a model that stood on its own. They did awesome. Congrats to Dharyna and Lucia for making the model that stood the tallest!
