All about pigs...

What was your favorite thing you learned about pigs today? Please comment below and make and you put your name.

All About Pigs!

The students were so excited to see that their teacher was dressed up as a pig. It made labeling our pictorial chart of a pig that much more meaningful.

What's Happening in Math?

Today we learned ways to make the number 1. Our class came up with so many awesome ways!!

This weeks' Centers

It is so fun differentiating all of the centers to meet every students' needs. We are working hard in our centers this week!

Center 1- Story Vocabulary-Matching Animals with their different names and finding their babies. Afterwards students try to sound out some of the farm animals. Then, students write or draw a picture of their favorite animal. When students finish they get to make whatever farm animal they want out of construction paper.

Station 2- Poetry Center- Students glue our chant in their poetry books, then take the first verse of our poem and try to put the sentences together using the poem. We call this "syntax surgery."

Station 3- Computers- This week students are working on decoding words or letter sounds depending on where they are at.
Station 4- Squiggle Story- Students turn their squiggle into whatever they want and write about it. We have some students who are writing sentences and some students who are still working on doing squiggles and drawing pictures. Differentiation is so much fun!

Please have your child practice their numbers at home. Make sure they are writing them correctly when doing it. This video is a great way to have children practice!
